The season when Arts & Crafts were born
Imagine the days ending earlier, coming into your home to warm yourself by the fire, while your meal cooks on the hearth. Sitting after a long day working the earth. As the long night wears on you turn to your craft. It maybe cross stitch, knitting, drawing or woodworking. These are the days I believe crafting really started. When times were simpler and we practiced skills and etiquettes that we rarely see in our current times.
I absolutely appreciate our modern day amenities, yet a part of my soul yearns daily, for simpler times. When messages were written on paper, or you went to someone’s home to speak to them in person. When food was prepared from scratch with whole and natural ingredients, and when pride was taken in one’s design and skill.
Fall reminds me of these simpler times. I yearn for home during fall, being fireside in the company of family. There is a change in the air that the weather brings, an anticipation for the holidays for surprises, and even a bit of magic.
To celebrate Fall, this year we are launching Lemon Grove Gatherings. Join us for our first gathering on October 13, 2018. We will celebrate that Fall Magic with family and friends as we gather to make fall flower crowns and share our family traditions.
